@me Hats: What Were They For?

It has often been hypothesized that humans wore hats for aerodynamic functionality. However, this hypothesis has not been previously tested with the newfangled technology of wind tunnels.

In this study, we test several hats in a wind tunnel, and discover a novel aerodynamic property of hats: they blow away! This supports our hypothesis that hats may have been used in the dispersal of tiny young, analogous to "ballooning spiders".
